European Plans 2014-2020
The cohesion policy is the main EU investment policy, the instrument with which the Union wants to achieve the Europe 2020 strategy’s goals: more growth and jobs, the fight against climate change and energy dependency reduction, poverty and social exclusion reduction.
For 2014-2020 they were allocated to cohesion policy 351.8 billion euro, almost one third of the total EU budget.
To realize the funding, the Commission signed with the Member States the partnership agreements and operational programs which identify investment priorities and development needs. The Member States’ management authorities managing the programs and select the individual projects.
